Interesting to hear the news today that from July 1st more than 500 18-year-old care leavers in Wales will be offered £1,600 a month to support them into adult life.

The pilot from the Welsh government has raised questions on whether this income will benefit these individuals in the long term, or whether the money would be better invested to support them as they continue on the care pathway to reach independence.
